The Process

1. Getting to Know You

Browse the designs in our letterpress gallery. See something you like? Or do you want to tweak some minor things on an existing design to better suit your occasion? Just let us know what you need and we’ll get started.

If you don’t see a style that you like in our gallery, we’d love to custom design something to fit your needs.  Tell us about your event details (themes, colors, budget, etc.).  If you’re not sure about these details yet, that’s ok! Tell us what designs or styles inspire you – we want to establish your aesthetic preferences before we start. Once we agree on some general ideas and a timeline, we’ll draft an estimate for you to approve.  A signed estimate and a 50% (non-refundable) deposit are required before any actual design work is started.

Some information that would help us with the quoting process:

  • Wedding date and location
  • Theme or color pallete
  • Pinterest board link
  • Budget
  • Pieces needed (invite, rsvp, map, accommodations, menu, favor tags, etc.)
  • # of colors (typically 1 or 2)

2. Choosing a Design

If you’ve chosen a design from our gallery, please send us all the event details that you want printed on the invitation. Please proof your work for typographical errors.

For custom orders, please also send us the event details as you’d like printed on the invitation.  We will take what we learned about you and your event and  come up with a few different designs for you to choose from.  Four rounds of minor revisions are included in your order.  Any major changes (changes to layout and overall design) will be charged at our hourly rate of $60/hour.

3. Confirmation

We will send you .pdf proofs of your custom order. These samples are what your order will look like once printed so please review your proofs carefully.  We recommend printing out the .pdf instead of proofing on your computer.  We are not responsible for typographical errors after a proof has been approved. A signed confirmation and the remaining 50% of the balance are necessary to begin printing.

4. Print Production

Once we receive your payment, we begin printing! Our house paper for invitations is Crane’s Lettra 110lb/300gsm paper, which is 100% cotton paper and perfect for letterpress.  If you’d like another paper stock, please let us know and we will be happy to accommodate.  Due to the handmade nature of letterpress printing, please be aware that there may be some slight variations in ink colors, coverage and registration; however, we think that this only adds to the charm and uniqueness of each piece.

Please allow about 2 weeks for your order to arrive, or whatever timeline was discussed in the client brief.  Because each project is so unique, production times may vary.  The production time for each order varies and depends on the complexity of the project as well as the quantity.  If for any reason your order may take longer than our discussed deadline, we will alert you as soon as possible.  Finally, your invitations will be shipped to your door via USPS  (other shipping options are available – please specify).
